First Fabulous Febuary in Flemington
Hello Everyone
It looks like a few people liked my rant in my Wednesday newsletter about the farmers markets verses the" big two" so I've re-published it here...
A Pinch and a punch for the first of the month… That’s what Coles think anyway, “lets beat up the farmers”, they’ve said to themselves. We’ve laid waste to the Dairy farmers already, we’re half job done with the free range egg people, let’s go after the fruit and vege growers and the sorry news is they can, they have, they wrote the book on it.
The only thing standing in their way are Farmers Markets and those people who realise price doesn’t equal value. Value is about flavour, it’s about freshness, it’s about shelf life, its about variety and that funny old thing called ethics.
We’re on again this Sunday, as usual, doing what we can to support our farmers, so come and shop, bring a friend,or try and convince someone who has never been to a Farmers market to try it out.
We are a small voice in the cacophony, but they will hear us!
